BUILD A KIT YOU CAN ACTUALLY USE

Supplies are only half the plan.

Start with skills

Take first aid, CPR, and AED training from a recognized provider. Add bleeding-control training before depending on specialized trauma supplies.

Organize by injury

Keep wound care, medications, tools, gloves, and serious-bleeding supplies in clearly marked sections so nobody has to dig.

Inspect and replace

Review the kit at least twice a year and after every use. Replace expired, damaged, wet, opened, or missing items promptly.

AT-A-GLANCE COMPARISON

A kit does not replace emergency care

Call 911 for a life-threatening injury or when you are unsure. Follow the dispatcher and product instructions. Use firm direct pressure for serious bleeding, and use a commercial tourniquet only as trained and directed.

DO NOT WAIT FOR THE EMERGENCY TO OPEN THE BAG

Know the kit before you need it.

Take a class, label the supplies, add personal medications and emergency information, and make sure everyone knows where the kit is kept.
